Picasa

Picasa is a well-know application, created by Google. Its main purpose is to browse and archive images. Of course, today this is not just a browser – it is equipped with many interesting modules, which all contribute to the growing functionality of this software.

Picasa, apart from the archiving option, presents the users with the recorder, thanks to which images can be burnt on a CD with the use of this application. Still, the most impressive is here the image editor, with which we can edit digital photos as we like it. Picasa is not as extensive as Photoshop, released by Adobe, but still we can change the contrast, saturation of colors, brightness, crop the image, change its resolution, and finally – get rid of the red eyes. Those who love artistic layers, on the other hand, are offered with quite a few various filters, which can be used during the edition.

Another important feature here is the possibility to decode the information about image encrypted in the EXIF files. Undoubtedly, Picasa may be useful also to blog-writers, because the producer added a module that enables us to upload the images directly on blogs, thanks to which we can share our images with other people quickly and easily.
Finally, this application is downloadable for free, so it is a great alternative to all the paid image editors and browsers.
