CCleaner

CCleaner is a free application meant for helping us with cleaning our Windows operating system off any unnecessary files. After we use this application and dispose of any trash on our hard disk, we can be sure that the system will be working faster and more effective, and what is more, we will regain some of the disk space. The very process of the analysis of the disk resources and the removal of the unnecessary data is carried out very quickly, so soon after running it, we can enjoy the faster and more efficient system, and some free space on the hard disk. The user of CCleaner is presented by the application with three tabs to choose from: Cleaner tab, Problems tab, and Tools tab. Those can be used for different operations, which all lead to cleaning our operating system off the unwanted files. Most commonly disposed of by this application are Internet Explorer’s cookie files, as well as temporary files, history files, the data on the last entered address, and so on. CCleaner is also able to delete the files that are currently stored in the trash.

It is also possible to empty the trash on the other systems, if we have more than just one version of Windows installed on the computer. The functioning of this program is similar to the principles of the tool for organizing hard disks released together with Windows systems. However, compared to CCleaner, the Windows tool seems fairly simple. The scanner of CCleaner allows for searching the files that remained after the incomplete uninstalling of programs. It is very important, since some of those remaining files can be of considerable size. In the case of incomplete or interrupted uninstalling, it is also possible to scan the system registry in search for outdated keys or entries that lead to paths that no longer exist. Additionally, with the use of this program, we can change the configuration of some applications and services that are run at the startup of the system. In this way, we can have the total control over the usage of RAM right after the system startup, as well as get rid of unwanted and unnecessary applications and files.
