Ad-Aware

Ad-Aware is considered by many IT specialists one of the most efficient software for removing all kinds of threats and malicious programs hidden on the computer, starting with such applications as spyware and trojan horses, and ending with unwanted advertisements that pop up on the computer monitor. If we have any of those problems, Ad-Aware is the solution to each and every one of them. However, it would be advisable to install such a program – Ad-Aware or any other of this kind, actually– on the computer, even if we do not have any problems with spyware or viruses, because we never know when such troubles may begin.

Ad-Aware consists of two main components. The first one is the scanner thanks to which we can detect and remove malicious software; the second component will protect our computer from any threats coming from the Internet, so this is a component meant for prevention. This program allows for detecting such applications as spyware, viruses or any other threats that may hide on the hard disk, as well as all the kinds of malicious entries in the system register. Thanks to that, the computer is “clean” and what is more – it works a lot faster, and as for us – we can be sure that our data is safe. Why keeping a “clean”, threat-free computer is so important? Because any malicious program can, for instance, read a repetitive configuration of keys (for example, our passwords) and send them out, or change the configuration of our web browsers and other programs used on the computer (for example, anti-virus software), or run expensive phone calls or any other services, which is really best avoided. This program is available in many language versions.

Ad-Aware is downloadable for free, except for commercial use. What is most important though is that to be able to remove the detected threats, the application needs to be registered and for that, unfortunately, we need to pay. This program can be – and, probably, should be – combined with a similar application so that together they will detect threats which may be looked over by some other program, and it is better to be safe than sorry.
